Abstract
The present invention relates to a solid catalyst component for the polymerization of olefins CH2═CHR in which R is hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radical with 1–12 carbon atoms, comprising Mg, Ti, halogen and an electron donor selected from maleates of a particular formula. Said catalyst components when used in the polymerization of olefins, and in particular of propylene, are capable to give polymers in high yields and with high isotactic index expressed in terms of high xylene insolubility.
Claims17
A solid catalyst component for the polymerization of olefins CH2═CHR, in which R is hydrogen or a hydrocarbyl radical with 1–12 carbon atoms, comprising Mg, Ti, halogen and an electron donor selected from maleates of formula (I):
- wherein R′ is a C1–C20 hydrocarbon group, R1 is isobutyl or a C5–C20 hydrocarbon group, and R2 is H.
A catalyst for the polymerization of olefins CH2═CHR, in which R is hydrogen or a hydrocarbyl radical with 1–12 carbon atoms, comprising the product obtained by contacting:
- (a) a solid catalyst component comprising Mg, Ti, halogen and an electron donor selected from maleates of formula (I):
- wherein R′ is a C1–C20 hydrocarbon group, R1 is isobutyl or a C5–C20 hydrocarbon group, and R2 is H;
- (b) an alkylaluminum compound and, optionally,
- (c) at least one electron-donor compound (external donor).
A process for the (co)polymerization of olefins CH2═CHR, in which R is hydrogen or a hydrocarbyl radical with 1–12 carbon atoms, carried out in the presence of a catalyst comprising the product obtained by contacting:
- (a) a solid catalyst component comprising Mg, Ti, halogen and an electron donor selected from maleates of formula (I):
- wherein R′ is a C1–C20 hydrocarbon group, R1 is isobutyl or a C5–C20 hydrocarbon group, and R2 is H;
- (b) an alkylaluminum compound and, optionally;
- (c) at least one electron-donor compound (external donor).
