Abstract
The present invention relates to a novel BCSG1 protein. In particular, isolated nucleic acid molecules are provided encoding the human BCSG1 protein. BCSG1 polypeptides are also provided as are vectors, host cells and recombinant methods for producing the same. Also provided are diagnostic methods for detecting breast cancer.

An isolated polynucleotide comprising a nucleic acid encoding amino acids 2 to 127 of SEQ ID NO:2.
An isolated polynucleotide comprising a nucleic acid encoding the complete amino acid sequence encoded by the cDNA clone of ATCC Deposit No. 97856.
An isolated polynucleotide fragment of SEQ ID NO:1 consisting of at least 100 contiguous nucleotides of the coding region of SEQ ID NO:1 or the complete complement thereof.
An isolated polynucleotide, encoding a fragment of SEQ ID NO:2 selected from the group consisting of:
- (a) a polypeptide consisting of at least amino acids 94 to 107 of SEQ ID NO:2;
- and
- (b) a polypeptide consisting of at least amino acids 120 to 127 of SEQ ID NO:2.
