Abstract
The invention concerns relates to the use of an efficient amount of lipochroman-6, in a physiologically acceptable medium, in a composition or for preparing a composition, the lipochroman-6 or the composition being designed to inhibit NO-synthase.

A method for the cosmetic treatment of a disorder having NO synthesis as a causative factor, said method comprising applying to the skin, to the hair and/or to the mucous membranes of an individual in need thereof, an NO-synthase inhibiting amount of lipochroman-6 in a physiologically acceptable medium.
A method for inhibiting NO-synthase in a subject in need of same, said method comprising administering to said subject a composition comprising an effective NO-synthase inhibiting amount of lipochroman-6 in a physiologically acceptable medium.
A method for inhibiting NO-synthase in a subject in need of same other than a subject having an immunological and/or inflammatory condition, said method comprising administering to said subject a composition comprising an effective NO-synthase inhibiting amount of lipochroman-6 in a physiologically acceptable medium.
