Abstract

In an optical connector adapter for use in connecting first and second optical connectors to each other, the optical connector adapter includes a shell member which has a wall portion defining an opening and which receives the first optical connector. The opening is received with an insert member adapted to guide the second optical connector. The insert member includes a flange portion extending outward in a radial direction. The flange portion has an extending end face faced to the wall portion, an engaging portion formed on the extending end face, and a slit allowing the engaging portion to be movable away from the wall portion. The wall portion has an engaged portion to be engaged with the engaging portion of the flange portion.

Dependent claims

An optical connector adapter for use in connecting first and second optical connectors to each other, the optical connector adapter comprising:

a first shell member having a wall portion defining an opening, the first shell member being for receiving the first optical connector;
and
an insert member received in the opening and adapted to guide the second optical connector, the insert member including a flange portion extending outward in a radial direction,
the flange portion having:
an extending end face faced to the wall portion;
an engaging portion formed on the extending end face;
and
a slit allowing the engaging portion to be movable away from the wall portion, the wall portion having an engaged portion to be engaged with the engaging portion.
