Abstract
A hydrodynamic bearing device with reduced costs is provided. A housing with a bearing sleeve housed therein is formed by drawing. A cup shaped thrust member is positioned in a bottom part of the housing, and by bringing this thrust member into contact with a lower end surface of the bearing sleeve, the widths of thrust bearing gaps within first and second thrust bearing parts are set to prescribed values.
Claims18
A hydrodynamic bearing device including an axial member, a bearing sleeve, a housing with the bearing sleeve secured to an inner periphery thereof, a radial bearing gap formed between an outer periphery of the axial member and the inner periphery of the bearing sleeve, and sealing means with a sealing space having a surface of a lubricating oil therein for sealing one end of the housing, in which by relative rotation of the axial member and the bearing sleeve, pressure is generated in the radial bearing gap by a fluid dynamic pressure effect, thereby supporting the axial member and the bearing sleeve in a non-contact state, wherein the housing is a press molded product.
