Abstract
Supports for routing cables in existing pipelines are flexible cable supports containing minimally one hollow passage to receive a cable, and are installed between an existing pipeline inner wall and a structural liner. The cable supports have an elongate cross-section transverse to their length and are of sufficient flexibility to conform to the interior wall of the pipeline.
Claims19
A method for installing a cable receiving structure in an existing pipeline, comprising
- a) inserting into a pipeline a length of a flexible cable support member containing minimally one hollow conduit passage adapted to receive a cable, said flexible cable support member having an elongate cross-section transverse to its length and of sufficient flexibility to conform to an interior wall of said pipeline;
- and
- b) inserting a structural liner into said pipeline such that said flexible cable support member is fixed in position between said interior wall of said pipeline and an exterior wall of said flexible liner.
