Abstract
There is disclosed a hand-held labeler for printing and applying labels and for printing tags. The labeler has a keyboard, a display, a scanner, and a battery-containing handle. The labeler is user-friendly and compact. The labeler can be easily loaded with label and tag webs of different widths. The labeler has a discharge chute for the carrier web which can be slid to a position outside the labeler for easy cleaning.
Claims7
A printer, comprising:
- a pair of housing sections, a mounting member on one of the housing sections and having a pair of stop surfaces, a heat sink removably mounted to the mounting member, a print head secured to the heat sink, a pair of springs acting on the mounting member and the heat sink, a platen roll rotatably mounted on the other housing section, the other housing section having a pair of members adjacent the platen roll, the stop surfaces cooperating with the members, a pair of springs acting on the mounting member and the one housing section, and the housing sections being relatively movable between a printing position in which the stop surfaces are against the members and in which the print head and platen roll are cooperable to print on a web and an open position in which the print head and platen roll are spaced apart.
