Abstract
The invention concerns endofucanases suitable for preparing fuco-oligosaccharides by enzymatic hydrolysis of fucanes. It also concerns a bacterium producing endofucanases and the preparation of said enzyme from the bacterium. It further concerns endofucanase genes and it finally concerns the use said fuco-oligosaccharides for plant protection.
Claims6
A method of treatment for stimulating a direct elicitor effect of defense reactions in a plant comprising:
- selecting a sulphated fuco-oligosaccharide having a polymerization degree from 4 to 100 α-L fucose units;
- forming an aqueous solution having a concentration of the sulphated fuco-saccharide of at least 10 mg/l;
- and
- applying the said solution to the plant to be treated.
