Abstract
An organic electroluminescence element comprising: an anode layer, a cathode layer, and an organic luminescence layer therebetween, the organic luminescence layer having a carbazole derivative with a glass-transition temperature of 110° C. or higher, and a phosphorescent dopant. This structure makes it possible to provide an organic electroluminescence element which can make use of the triplet exciton state of the carbazole derivative even at room temperature and which has a practical life and superior heat-resistance.
Claims9
An organic host material for an organic electroluminescence element, the organic host material being at least one of the carbazole derivatives
- or a compound from the compounds of the following general formula (1) to (4):
- wherein
- Ar1 is a substituted phenyl, biphenyl, terphenyl, quaterphenyl or naphthyl group, or a substituted or non-substituted carbazolylphenyl group, provided Ar1 contains a carbazole group;
- and
- m and n is 0 or 1;
- at least one of Ar1 contains a carbazole group;
- and m and n is 0 or 1;
- wherein R1 to R8 are each independently a hydrogen or alkyl group;
- X1 and X2 are each independently an alkyl, or alkyl-substituted or non-substituted phenyl or biphenyl group;
- Y is phenylene or biphenylene;
- and
- p is 2 or 3;
- wherein
- is each independently
- a carbazolyl group,
- R9 is an alkyl-substituted or non-substituted phenyl, biphenyl, terphenyl, naphthyl, carbazolyl group or
- at least one of R9,
- contains a carbazolyl group;
- and
- wherein Z is a trivalent nitrogen atom or benzenetriyl group;
- and
- Ar12 to Ar14 are each independently a carbazolyl, carbazolylphenyl, carbazolylbiphenyl, carbazolylnaphthyl group or
- provided that all Ar12 to Ar14 are not the same group.
