Abstract
Retrofit fluorescent lighting fixtures for installation into a surface mounted cylindrical lighting fixture of the square or cylindrical shape. A 4-wire assembly is used for replacing conventional incandescent light bulbs with fluorescent light bulbs in existing lighting fixtures recessed downlights, in particular. The retrofit lighting fixtures include, inter alia, a threaded connector, a ballast, a heat exchanger, a fluorescent light source connector and a threaded body for receiving a reflector glass.

A reflector glass assembly comprising,
- a glass for enclosing a fluorescent light source,
- a threaded coupling end joined to said glass,
- said coupling including a support neck with a flared end to engage said glass, and
- a heat exchanger mounted to said coupling end to selectively remove heat from said assembly,
- said heat exchanger comprises a ring which surrounds said support neck and a plurality of fins radiating outwardly from said ring.

A reflector glass assembly comprising,
- a reflector for enclosing a fluorescent light source,
