Abstract
A multi-layered optical disk comprising a plurality of recording layers accumulated in the thickness direction wherein a light bean is focused on one of tracks of one of the layers thereby to record and reproduce data, the optical disk being characterized in that recording layers each have an identification section storing an address of the recording layer which the identification section belongs to.
Claims2
A method for reproducing information on an optical disk comprising:
- a first layer,
- a second layer on the first layer,
- a spacer material, transparent to a light beam, made of UV resin, having a thickness of 10 to 100 μm, and positioned between the first layer and the second layer, and
- a plurality of tracks provided in each of the first layer and the second layer, each of the tracks being divided into a plurality of sectors, each of which has identification information including layer information;
- said method comprising the steps of:
- reading the identification information from the optical disk;
- and
- confirming, based on the identification information, that the desired layer is retrieved.
