Abstract
C4-dicarboxylic acids or derivatives thereof are hydrogenated in the gas phase in a fluidized-bed reactor. It is possible to use catalyst compositions known per se.

A process for the catalytic hydrogenation in the gas phase of C4-dicarboxylic acids and/or their derivatives, wherein the reaction is carried out in a fluidized-bed reactor, and the C4-dicarboxylic acid and/or the derivative thereof is fed in liquid form into the reactor.
