A lock for a door (10) comprises a casing (11), a bolt (55) operable to extend from or retract into the casing, a pivoted operating handle (36) operable at one side of the door to retract the bolt, lock means (28) for key operation at the other side of the door, and blocking means (81) to prevent operation of the handle to retract the bolt. In a locked closed position of the door, the bolt (55) is extended, and with the blocking means operated, key operation of the exterior lock means (28) both retracts the bolt and also de-actuates the blocking means. At the inside of the door further key operable lock means (39, 40) are provided sokly to operate and, if required to the de-actuate the blocking means. A casting (38) secured in the casing mounts the further lock means (39, 40), provides pan-bearings (38b: 138b) for pivot rods (41, 43) of the handle (36) and a bolt locking element (44), provides a guide slot (138d) for a spring-likle connector (49) linking the handle to the bolt locking element, and provides a pair of arms (66) between which slides a bolt release member (69) and against which bears one end of a biasing spring around part of the bolt release member.
A lock for a wing movable between respective open and closed positions relative to a frame comprising a casing a bolt operable to extend from or to retract into said casing, an operating member arranged to be operable at one side of the wing, in use, to effect retraction of the bolt, first lock means arranged, in use, for operation at the other side of the wing, and blocking means operable from said one side of the wing, in use, to prevent operation of the operating member to retract the bolt, the arrangement being such that, in use, in a locked, closed position of the wing said bolt is extended and said blocking means, if operated, prevents retraction of the bolt by said operating member, operation of said first lock means both de-actuating said blocking means, if operated, and retracting the bolt, wherein the blocking means can be actuated from said one side only of the wing to prevent operation of the operating member to retract the bolt, wherein the blocking means are operable to prevent operation of the operating member to retract the bolt by second lock means at said one side of the wing;
A lock for a wing movable between respective open and closed positions relative to a frame comprising a casing, a bolt operable to extend from or to retract into said casing, an operating member arranged to be operable at one side of the wing, in use, to effect retraction of the bolt, first lock means arranged, in use, for operation at the other side of the wing, and blocking means operable from said one side of the wing, in use, to prevent operation of the operating member to retract the bolt, the arrangement being such that, in use, in a locked, closed position of the wing said bolt is extended and said blocking means, if operated, prevents retraction of the bolt by said operating member, operation of said first lock means both de-actuating said blocking means, if operated, and retracting the bolt wherein the blocking means can be actuated from said one side only of the wing to prevent operation of the operating member to retract the bolt, wherein the blocking means is operable to prevent operation of the operating member to retract the bolt by second lock means at said one side of the wing, wherein said second lock means is operable at said one side of the wing to de-actuate the blocking means, wherein the blocking means is an angularly moveable cam, wherein the cam is on a second member arranged for limited angular movement by operation of said operable second lock means at said one side of the wing, wherein said second member has first and second ends, and wherein an angularly movable plug of said second lock means has a part received in a recess at the first end of said second member with lost motion between said plug and said second member.
A lock as claimed in claim wherein the cam is restrained against inadvertent angular movement in both its blocking and de-actuated states.
A lock as claimed in claimed 11, wherein the lost motion take up by the bar after de-activation of the blocking means corresponds to movement of the bolt drive cam back to its rest position from a position to where it retracts the bolt for engagement by bolt holding means.
A lock for a wing movable between respective open and closed positions relative to a frame comprising a casing, a bolt operable to extend from or to retract into said casing, an operating member arranged to be operable at one side of the wing, in use, to effect retraction of the bolt, first lock means arranged, in use, for operation at the other side of the wing, and blocking means operable, in use, to prevent operation of the operating member to retract the bolt, the arrangement being such that, in use, in a locked, closed position of the wing said bolt is extended and said blocking means, if operated, prevents retraction of the bolt by said operating member, operation of said lock means de-actuating said blocking means, if operated,
A lock for a wing movable between respective open and closed positions relative to a frame comprising a casing, a bolt operable to extend from or to retract into said casing, an operating member arranged to be operable at one side of the wing, in use, to effect retraction of the bolt, first lock means arranged, in use, for operation at the other side of the wing, and blocking means operable, in use, to prevent operation of the operating member to retract the bolt, the arrangement being such that, in use, in a locked, closed position of the wing said bolt is extended and said block means, if operated, prevents retraction of the bolt by said operating member, operation of said first lock means both de-actuating said blocking means, if operated, and retracting the bolt, wherein the blocking means are operable from both sides of the wing to prevent operation of the operating ember to retract the bolt.
