Abstract
The invention provides isolated cellulose synthase nucleic acids and their encoded proteins. The present invention provides methods and compositions relating to altering cellulose synthase levels in plants. The invention further provides recombinant expression cassettes, host cells, and transgenic plants comprising said nucleic acids.
Claims12
An isolated polynucleotide selected from the group consisting of:
- (a) a polynucleotide having at least 90% sequence identity, as determined by the GAP algorithm under default parameters, to the full length sequence of a polynucleotide selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 25, 27 and 29;
- wherein the polynucleotide encodes a functional cellulose synthase.
- (b) a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 26, 28, and 30.
- (c) a polynucleotide selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 25, 27, and 29.
- (d) a polynucleotide which is complementary to the polynucleotide of (a), (b), or (c).
