Abstract
The present invention provides a method for determining whether to wake up a mobile station. The mobile station includes first configuration parameters relating to a base station. The method includes the steps of receiving a configuration change indicator at the mobile station. The configuration change indicator is indicative that the first configuration parameters relating to the base station are different than second configuration parameters that currently relate to the base station. The method further includes waking up the mobile station to receive the second configuration parameters.
Claims16
A method for updating configuration parameters at a mobile station, the method comprising the steps of:
- storing, at the mobile station, first configuration parameters from a first base station;
- performing an idle handoff of the mobile station from the first base station to a second base station, the second base station having second configuration parameters associated therewith;
- updating configuration parameters at the mobile station from the first configuration parameters to the second configuration parameters;
- performing an idle handoff of the mobile station from the second base station to the first base station;
- and
- receiving at least one configuration change indicator to indicate whether current configuration parameters associated with the first base station are different from the first configuration parameters.
