Display pixel having a capacitive electrode with different conductivity type from the switching element

A display device comprising:

• a plurality of first scanning lines and second scanning lines;
• a plurality of data signal lines;
• a plurality of pixels arranged a matrix;
• and
• a driving circuit for said plurality of pixels;
• wherein said driving circuit includes:
• a switching element having a first terminal and a second terminal of a first conduction type, said first terminal being connected to said data signal line, and being held in a conducting or non-conducting state according to a voltage applied to said first scanning line;
• and
• a storage capacitance having a first electrode and a second electrode, second electrode comprising said second scanning line;
• and
• the second terminal of said switching element is connected to a display element and connected to the first electrode of said storage capacitance, said first electrode a semiconductor film of a second conduction type different from the conduction type of the second terminal.
