Abstract
A toner for electrostatic image development, which comprises a binder resin, a colorant and a charge control resin, wherein the charge control resin is a copolymer composed a vinyl monomer unit and a quaternary ammonium salt group-containing (meth)acrylate monomer unit and has a glass transition temperature of 40 to 75° C., and a production process thereof.
Claims11
A toner for electrostatic image development, comprising at least a binder resin, a colorant and a charge control resin, wherein the charge control resin is a copolymer composed a vinyl monomer unit and a quaternary ammonium salt group-containing (meth)acrylate monomer unit and has a glass transition temperature of 40 to 75° C.
A toner for electrostatic image development, which is a core-shell type toner that a shell layer of a polymer having a glass transition temperature higher than the glass transition temperature of a binder resin in core particles containing at least the binder resin, a colorant and a charge control resin is formed on the core particles, wherein the charge control resin is a copolymer composed a vinyl monomer unit and a quaternary ammonium salt group-containing (meth)acrylate monomer unit and has a glass transition temperature of 40 to 75° C.
A toner for electrostatic image development, comprising at least a binder resin, a colorant and a charge control resin, wherein the charge control resin is a copolymer composed a vinyl monomer and a quaternary ammonium salt group-containing (meth)acrylate monomer and has a glass transition temperature of 40 to 75° C.
A process for producing a toner for electrostatic image development, comprising suspending a monomer composition containing at least a polymerizable monomer, a colorant and a charge control resin in an aqueous dispersion medium containing a dispersion stabilizer and polymerizing the monomer using a polymerization initiator, wherein the charge control resin is a copolymer composed a vinyl monomer unit and a quaternary ammonium salt group-containing (meth)acrylate monomer unit and has a glass transition temperature of 40 to 75° C.
A process for producing a core-shell type toner for electrostatic image development, comprising suspending a monomer composition containing at least a polymerizable monomer, a colorant and a charge control resin in an aqueous dispersion medium containing a dispersion stabilizer, polymerizing the monomer using a polymerization initiator, thereby forming core particles, and then adding and polymerizing a polymerizable monomer for shell, which is capable of forming a polymer having a glass transition temperature higher than that of a polymer formed from the first mentioned polymerizable monomer, in the presence of the core particles, wherein the charge control resin is a copolymer composed a vinyl monomer unit and a quaternary ammonium salt group-containing (meth)acrylate monomer unit and has a glass transition temperature of 40 to 75° C.
