Abstract
The object of the present invention is to provide a production method for a silicate phosphor having high brightness. This object is achieved by the method for producing a silicate phosphor comprising a step of calcining a mixture of metal compounds, wherein one of the metal compounds is silicon oxide having BET specific surface area of not less than 10 m2/g.
Claims8
A method for producing a silicate phosphor comprising a step of calcining a mixture of metal compounds,
- wherein the mixture of metal compounds comprises silicon oxide having a BET specific surface area of not less than 10 m2/g and a compound of one or more metals selected from the group consisting of Ca, Sr, Ba, Mg, Eu, Mn and Zn, and
- the silicate phosphor comprises a compound represented by the general formula of mM1O·nM2O·2SiO2 (wherein M1 is one or more elements selected from the group consisting of Ca, Sr and Ba, M2 is one or more elements selected from the group consisting of Mg and Zn, m is from 0.5 to 3.5, and n is from 0.5 to 2.5), and one or more selected from the group consisting of Eu and Mn as an activating agent.
A silicate phosphor containing not less than 80% by weight particle having primary particle diameter of not more than 5 μm obtained by the method comprising a step of calcining a mixture of metal compounds, wherein one of the metal compounds is silicon oxide having BET specific surface area of not less than 10 m2/g, wherein the silicate phosphor comprises a compound represented by the general formula of mM1O·nM2O·2SiO2 (wherein M1 is one or more elements selected from the group consisting of Ca, Sr and Ba, M2 is one or more elements selected from the group consisting of Mg and Zn, m is from 0.5 to 3.5, and n is from 0.5 to 2.5), and one or more selected from the group consisting of Eu and Mn as an activating agent.
