Abstract
The present invention provides hair care compositions comprising at least 10% of one or more polydialkylsiloxanes each having at least one pendant alkyl moiety, methods of using the compositions to reduce the loss of color in the hair, methods of using the compositions to reduce the effects of oxidation on the hair, and methods of using the compositions to add volume to the hair.

A method of reducing color loss in hair comprising applying at least one polydialkylsiloxane having at least one pendant alkyl moiety, said polydialkylsiloxane having a vapor pressure vapor pressure of at least 0.8 mmHg. at 25° C., to the hair in an amount effective to reduce color loss in the hair.
A method of protecting hair from the effects of oxidation comprising applying at least one polydialkylsiloxane having at least one pendant alkyl moiety, said polydialkylsiloxane having a vapor pressure vapor pressure of at least 0.8 mmHg. at 25° C., to the hair in an amount effective to protect the hair from the effects of oxidation.
A method of reducing color loss in dyed hair comprising applying at least one polydialkylsiloxane having at least one pendant alkyl moiety, said polydialkylsiloxane having a vapor pressure vapor pressure of at least 0.8 mmHg. at 25° C., to the hair in an amount effective to reduce color loss in the hair.
