Abstract
An electrolytic capacitor comprising an anode, cathode and an electrolyte. The electrolyte comprises an aqueous solution comprising a compound of formula 1: CH3—(OCH2CH2)m—CH3 Formula 1 wherein m is an integer from 3 to 10. The electrolyte also comprises an ionogen.

An electrolytic capacitor comprising an anode, cathode and an electrolyte, said electrolyte further comprising:
- an aqueous solution comprising a compound of formula 1:
- CH3—(OCH2CH2)m—OCH3 Formula 1
- wherein m is an integer from 3 to 10;
- and an ionogen.

- an anode of a valve metal and a metal oxide cathode;
- an aqueous electrolyte comprising a compound of formula 1:
- CH3—(OCH2CH2)m—OCH3 Formula 1
- wherein m is an integer from 3 to 10;

- an acid.

- water;
- about 10 to about 70%, by weight, a compound of formula 1:

- wherein said electrolyte has a pH of about 1 to about 7.
