Abstract
Lipoxygenase genes from Vitis vinifera and polypeptides encoded thereby are provided.
Claims15
A purified polynucleotide encoding a Vitus vinifera lipoxygenase (LOX) polypeptide selected from the group consisting of:
- a) a polynucleotide comprising the sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 2 or SEQ ID NO:
- 4,
- b) a DNA characterized by having at least 90% sequence identity to the sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 2 or SEQ ID NO:
- 4 and which encodes a polypeptide having lipoxygenase enzyme activity;
- and
- c) a polynucleotide encoding the amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 1 or SEQ ID NO:
