Claims6
A method for treating a viral infection in an animal or a human subject suffering therefrom with a first antiviral agent, said method comprising:
- administering to the subject the first antiviral agent wherein said first antiviral agent comprises a compound of the general formula
- wherein X and Y are independently selected from the group consisting of O, S, SO, SO2, and SO3;
- wherein n is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4;
- wherein R, and R′ are independently H, with the proviso that when R is H, R′ is not H, and is selected from the group consisting of H, CH3, CF3, CH2Cl, CH2Br, CH2CH3, (CH2)2CH3, (CH2)3CH3, (CH2)4CH3, (CH2)5CH3, (CH2)6CH3, CH(CH3)2, CH(CH3)3, CH═C═CH2, (CH2)2O(CH2)3CH3, CH2HC═CH(CH2)3CH3, CH2C≡C(CH2)3CH3, CH2C≡C(CH2)2CH3, CH2C≡CCH2CH3, CH2C≡CCH3 and CH2C≡CH and isomers or homologues thereof;
- and
- Z is independently R, R′, XR, XR′, YR or YR′.
