Abstract
An element for ascertaining radiation dosage comprising: a support on which is disposed a coated layer, said coated layer comprising a binder and alanine; wherein the alanine, upon exposure to ionizing radiation, produces radicals that remain stable for long periods.
Claims28
An element for ascertaining radiation dosage comprising:
- a support on which is disposed a coated layer, said coated layer comprising a binder, alanine, and an additive, wherein the additive includes amorphous silica, alumina, a surfactant, or a combination thereof;
- and
- wherein the alanine, upon exposure to ionizing radiation, produces radicals that remain stable for long periods of time.
A coating solution comprising a solvent carrying alanine particles, binder, and an additive, said solution being used to coat substrate to produce a dosimeter for ascertaining local ionizing radiation, wherein the additive includes a surfactant, amorphous silica, alumina, or a combination thereof.
