Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus comprising:

• means for forming a toner image on a photosensitive body;
• an intermediate transfer body which moves while coming into contact with the photosensitive body the toner image being transferred to carry it once;
• secondary transfer means for transferring the toner image on the intermediate transfer body to a paper;
• a cleaning blade for cleaning the surface of the intermediate transfer body;
• a lubricating agent coating mechanism for coating a lubricating agent on the surface of the intermediate transfer body;
• and
• means for detecting or inputting the fact that said cleaning blade or said intermediate transfer body is a new article, whereby when said detection or input means transmits a signal that the cleaning blade or the intermediate transfer body is a new article to said lubricating agent coating mechanism, the lubricating agent coating mechanism operates to coat a lubricating agent on the surface of the intermediate transfer body.

An image forming apparatus comprising:

• a toner image forming unit for forming a toner image on a photosensitive body;
• a conveying belt for conveying a paper to a transfer area, conveying it while coming into contact with the photosensitive body, and transferring the toner image on the paper;
• a cleaning blade for cleaning the surface of the conveying belt;
• a lubricating agent coating mechanism for coating a lubricating agent on the surface of the conveying belt;
• and
• a detecting unit for detecting the fact that said cleaning blade or said conveying belt is a new article, whereby when said detecting unit transmits a signal that the cleaning blade or the conveying belt is a new article to said lubricating agent coating mechanism, the lubricating agent coating mechanism operates to coat a lubricating agent on the surface of the conveying belt.
