Abstract
A prepolymer, represented by the formula: wherein n is an average value grater than or equal to 0, Ar is an aromatic group, and each R10 is independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, haloalkyl, haloaryl and mixtures thereof and each R11 is independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, haloalkyl, haloaryl and mixtures thereof.
Claims5
A prepolymer, represented by the formula:
- wherein n is an average value greater than 0, Ar is an aromatic group, and each R10 is independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, haloalkyl, haloaryl and mixtures thereof and each R11 is independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, haloalkyl, haloaryl and mixtures thereof.
A prepolymer, made by the process comprising the step of:
- (a) reacting bis(hydroxy-R10-disubstituted-silyl)-Ar, wherein Ar is an aromatic group and each R10 is independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, haloalkyl, haloaryl and mixtures thereof, with bis(dimethylamino) R11-disubstituted-silane, wherein each R11 is independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, haloalkyl, haloaryl and mixtures thereof, to form a prepolymer of the formula:
- wherein n is an average value greater than 0, and wherein the value of n is controlled by selecting a initial molar ratio of bis(hydroxy-R10-disubstituted-silyl)-Ar and bis(dimethylamino) R11-disubstituted-silane.
