Abstract
Compounds of formula I are provided as well as pharmaceutically acceptable salts and esters thereof, wherein R1 to R3 and n have the significance given in the specification can be used to treat non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus.

A compound of formula (I):
- wherein
- R1 is aryl;
- R2 is hydrogen, alkyl or cycloalkyl;
- R3 is hydrogen, alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, alkylcarbonyl, arylcarbonyl, alkyl-S(O)2—, or aryl-S(O)2—;
- R4 is aralkyl;
- R5, R6, R7 and R8 are independently selected from hydrogen, alkyl or cycloalkyl;
- n is 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5;
- and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and esters thereof.
