Abstract
A method of treating or preventing tinea pedis, commonly known as Athlete's Foot, includes applying a polymerizable monomer adhesive composition to an area of skin afflicted with or susceptible to tinea pedis, optionally with at least one of an additional anti-fungal agent or a foot care additive, and allowing the polymerizable monomer composition to polymerize to form a polymer film over the area of skin.
Claims41
A method of treating tinea pedis, comprising:
- a) applying an adhesive composition comprising a polymerizable monomer to an area of skin, wherein said area of skin is afflicted with tinea pedis;
- and
- b) allowing said polymerizable monomer composition to polymerize to form a polymer film over said area of skin wherein said polymerizable composition comprises an α-cyanoacrylate monomer.
A method of treating tinea pedis, the method comprising the steps of:
- a. applying at least one of an anti-fungal agent or a foot care additive to an area of skin, wherein said area of skin is afflicted with tinea pedis;
- b. applying a polymerizable monomer composition to said area of skin over the at least one applied anti-fungal agent or foot care additive, wherein said composition comprises a 1,1-disubstituted ethylene monomer;
- and
- c. allowing said polymerizable monomer composition to polymerize to form a polymer film over said area of skin and said at least one anti-fungal agent or foot care additive.
A method of treating tinea pedis, the method comprising:
- a. combining a polymerizable monomer composition comprising a 1,1-disubstituted ethylene monomer and at least one of an anti-fungal agent or foot care additive to form a mixture;
- b. applying said mixture to an area of skin, wherein said area of skin is afflicted with tinea pedis;
- and
- c. allowing said mixture to polymerize to form at least one of an anti-fungal containing polymer film or a foot care additive containing polymer film over said area of skin.
