Abstract
In a fixing mechanism which heats a fixation member by generating heat in an endless member by using an induction current obtained from a current flowing through an induction coil, the present invention is characterized in that the induction coil is divided into a plurality of coils in a direction vertical to a moving direction of the fixation member and a coil to which power is supplied is switched according to needs.
Claims7
A heating mechanism comprising:
- a first coil body and a second coil body, each of which coil bodies increases a temperature of an object;
- a first temperature detection mechanism and a second temperature detection mechanism, said first temperature detection mechanism detecting a temperature obtained when a predetermined output is supplied to said first coil body and a temperature of said object is increased, and said second temperature detection mechanism detecting a temperature obtained when said predetermined output is supplied to said second coil body and a temperature of said object is increased;
- and
- an output control mechanism capable of alternately supplying said predetermined output to said first coil body and said second coil body,
- wherein said output control mechanism continuously supplies said predetermined output to said first coil body until said first temperature detection mechanism detects that a temperature in an area of said object which is increased by said first coil body reaches a predetermined temperature when a temperature of said object is increased by said first coil body, and does not supply said predetermined output to said second coil body while said predetermined output is supplied to said first coil body, and
- wherein, when said predetermined output is alternately supplied to said respective coil bodies, supply of said predetermined output to a coil body as a drive target is switched with zero cross and said switching is terminated in 0.2 seconds or less.

- a first temperature detection mechanism which detects a temperature obtained when a predetermined output is supplied to said first coil body and a temperature of said object is increased, and a second temperature detection mechanism which detects a temperature obtained when said predetermined output is supplied to said second coil body and a temperature of said object is increased;
- and
- an output control mechanism which supplies said predetermined output to each of said first coil body and said second coil body, said output control mechanism being capable of alternately supplying said predetermined output to either said first coil body or said second coil body, or simultaneously supplying said predetermined output to said first and second coil bodies,
- wherein, when said first predetermined output and said second predetermined output are supplied to said first coil body and said second coil body, said output control mechanism gradually increases magnitudes of said first and second predetermined outputs at predetermined intervals until one of said first predetermined output and said second predetermined output is supplied to at least one of said coil bodies and heating power outputted from said coil body to which said output has been supplied reaches a predetermined magnitude from off states of all of said individual coil bodies;
- and
- wherein, when said predetermined output is alternately supplied to said respective coil bodies, supply of said predetermined output to a coil body as a drive target is switched with zero cross and said switching is terminated in 0.2 seconds or less.
