Abstract
A water-based pigmented ink for use in ink jet printing is disclosed, comprising a pigment and a latex, wherein the average particle size of the pigment (a) and the average particle size of the latex (b) are 10 to 150 nm and 10 to 100 nm, respectively, and satisfying the following requirement 0.5≦a/b≦4 and the content of the latex being 0.1 to 10% by weight.
Claims7
An inkjet recording method, wherein ink jet recording is made on a recording medium exhibiting a glossiness at an angle of 60° of not less than 30% by the use of a water-based pigmented ink for ink jet printing comprising a pigment and a latex, and wherein the average particle size of the pigment is 10 to 150 nm and the average particle size of the latex is 10 to 50 nm, satisfying the following requirement:
- 0.5≦a/b≦4
- wherein a is the average particle size of the pigment and b is the average particle size of the latex;
- the content of the latex present in the ink is 0.1 to 10% by weight, based on the total weight of the ink;
- and
- the latex is a soap-free latex.
