Abstract
A compound of Formula (1) and salts thereof: In the formula, m is 1, 2 or 3; X is H or SO3H; R1 and R2 are each independently selected from optionally substituted alkyl and optionally substituted alkoxy; and R4 and R5 are each independently H, optionally substituted alkyl or optionally substituted aryl. When (i) at least one of R1 and R2 carries an —OH group; and (ii) when X is H at least one of R1 and R2 is optionally substituted alkyl. The compounds are useful as dyes for ink jet printing inks.

A compound of Formula (1) and salts thereof:
- wherein:
- m is 1, 2 or 3;
- X is SO3H;
- R1 and R2 are each independently selected from optionally substituted alkyl and optionally substituted alkoxy;
- and
- R4 and R5 are each independently H, optionally substituted alkyl or optionally substituted aryl;
- provided that:
- (i) at least one of R1 and R2 carries an —OH group.
