Wrapping machine

A method of wrapping a bale of materials comprising:

• moving the materials onto a wrapping platform at a first wrapping station;
• carrying out a preliminary wrapping of the bale of materials by rotating the wrapping platform to rotate the bale of materials relative to dispensing means for plastics wrapping film and/or rotating the dispensing means around the bale of materials on the wrapping platform to partially wrap the bale of materials in the film including extending the wrapping film over the bottom and top corners of the bale of materials, said preliminary wrapping permitting a transfer of the partially-wrapped material to a second wrapping station without the need for containment means other than the plastics film;
• transferring the partially-wrapped bale of materials to a second wrapping station;
• rotating dispensing means for plastics film around the partially-wrapped bale of materials at the second wrapping station and/or rotating the partially-wrapped bale of materials relative to the plastics film dispensing to further wrap the bale of materials in plastics film;
• wherein at the second wrapping station the partially-wrapped bale of materials is rotated about a substantially horizontal axis on a wrapping platform and simultaneously a relative rotational movement is effected, about a substantially vertical axis, between the partially-wrapped materials and at least one film dispenser to completely wrap the bale of materials in the plastics wrapping film.

A method of wrapping a bale of materials comprising:

• moving the materials onto a wrapping platform at a first wrapping station;
• carrying out a preliminary wrapping of the bale of materials by rotating the wrapping platform to rotate the bale of materials relative to dispensing means for plastics wrapping film and/or rotating the dispensing means around the bale of materials on the wrapping platform to partially wrap the bale of materials in the film including extending the wrapping film over the bottom and top corners of the bale of materials, said preliminary wrapping permitting a transfer of the partially-wrapped material to a second wrapping station without the need for containment means other than the plastics film;
• transferring the partially-wrapped bale of materials to a second wrapping station;
• rotating dispensing means for plastics film around the partially-wrapped bale of materials at the second wrapping station and/or rotating the partially-wrapped bale of materials relative to the plastics film dispensing to further wrap the bale of materials in plastics film;
• wherein the preliminary wrapping of the bale at said first wrapping station is effected by means of a relative rotational movement about a substantially vertical axis between the bale and said dispensing means.

A method of wrapping a bale of materials comprising:

• moving the materials onto a wrapping platform at a first wrapping station;
• carrying out a preliminary wrapping of the bale of materials by rotating the wrapping platform to rotate the bale of materials relative to dispensing means for plastics wrapping film and/or rotating the dispensing means around the bale of materials on the wrapping platform to partially wrap the bale of materials in the film including extending the wrapping film over the bottom and top corners of the bale of materials, said preliminary wrapping permitting a transfer of the partially-wrapped material to a second wrapping station without the need for containment means other than the plastics film;
• transferring the partially-wrapped bale of materials to a second wrapping station;
• rotating dispensing means for plastics film around the partially-wrapped bale of materials at the second wrapping station and/or rotating the partially-wrapped bale of materials relative to the plastics film dispensing to further wrap the bale of materials in plastics film;
• wherein the transfer of the partially-wrapped bale of materials from the first wrapping station to the second wrapping station is effected by swinging the partially-wrapped bale through substantially 90° to the second wrapping station.

A method of wrapping a bale of materials comprising:

• moving the bale of materials onto a wrapping platform at a first wrapping station;
• carrying out a preliminary wrapping of the bale of materials by effecting a relative rotational movement about a substantially vertical axis between the bale of materials and dispensing means for plastics wrapping film to partially wrap the bale of materials in the film including extending the wrapping film over the bottom and top corners of the bale of materials, said preliminary wrapping permitting a transfer of the partially-wrapped materials to a second wrapping station without the need for containment means other than the plastics film;
• transferring the partially-wrapped bale of materials to a second wrapping station;
• and
• at the second station rotating the partially-wrapped bale of materials about a substantially horizontal axis on a wrapping platform, and simultaneously effecting a relative rotational movement about a substantially vertical axis, between the partially-wrapped materials and at least one film dispenser to further wrap the bale of materials in plastics film.
