Abstract
In the synthesis of organohalosilanes by the direct process of reacting an organic halogen with metallic silicon powder, a metallic copper catalyst in the form of a thermally active metallic copper powder having large strain energy is used.
Claims8
A metallic copper catalyst, comprising a thermally active metallic copper powder having a heat generation start temperature of up to 300° C. and a calorific value of 1 to 80 cal/g upon differential thermal analysis in an air stream.
A metallic copper catalyst comprising a thermally active metallic copper powder having crystal lattices whose strain energy is relaxed at below 300° C.
