Abstract
Provided is a color filter which comprises a substrate and a resin layer on the substrate, the resin layer containing a plurality of colored portions of different colors and non-colored portions.
Claims24
A method for manufacturing a color filter comprising the steps of:
- (1) forming a resin layer on a substrate;
- (2) subjecting the resin layer to a patterning exposure to deteriorate the ink accepting property of portions between adjacent areas for different colors;
- and then
- (3) providing a plurality of colorants having different colors to areas not exposed in said exposure step, using an ink-jet printing system to form a pattern of the plurality of colors,
- wherein said resin layer comprises (a) a homopolymer of a monomer comprising a structure unit represented by the following formula (I), a copolymer of the above-mentioned monomer and another vinyl monomer or both the homopolymer and the copolymer and (b) a compound selected from the group consisting of halogenated triazine compounds, diphenyliodonium salt derivatives and triphenylsulfonium salt derivatives
- wherein R1 is hydrogen or a methyl group, and R2 is a hydrogen or an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms.
A method for manufacturing a color filter comprising the steps of:
- (1) forming a resin layer on a substrate;
- (2) subjecting the resin layer to a patterning exposure to improve the ink accepting property of portions between adjacent areas;
- and then
- (3) providing a plurality of colorants having different colors to the ink-acceptable portions exposed in said exposure step, using an ink-jet printing system to form a pattern of the plurality of colors,
- wherein said resin layer comprises (a) an acrylic resin having a structure unit represented by the following formula (V) and (b) a compound selected from the group consisting of halogenated triazine compounds, diphenyliodonium salt derivatives and triphenylsulfonium salt derivatives
- wherein R1 is hydrogen or an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, R2 is an alkylene group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms or a phenylene group, and R3 is an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, an alkyl-substituted silyl group, a phenyl group or a substituted aromatic group.
A method for manufacturing a color filter which comprises arranging colorants on a substrate by an ink-jet system comprising the steps of:
- (1) forming on a substrate a resin layer having an ink-acceptable property which is lowered by light irradiation or by the light irradiation and a heat treatment;
- (2) retaining in the resin layer uncured portions where the ink-acceptable property is not lowered and forming portions where the ink-acceptable property is lowered by subjected to light irradiation or light irradiation and heat treatment;
- and
- (3) applying a plurality of colorants having different colors to the resin layer by an ink-jet system to color the portions where the ink-acceptable property is not lowered with the colorants having different colors,
- wherein said resin layer comprises (a) a homopolymer of a monomer comprising a structural unit represented by the following formula (I), a copolymer of the monomer and another vinyl monomer or both the homopolymer and the copolymer and (b) a compound selected from the group consisting of halogenated triazine compounds, diphenyliodonium salt derivatives and triphenylsulfonium salt derivatives
- wherein R1 is hydrogen or a methyl group, and R2 is hydrogen or an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms.
A method for manufacturing a color filter which comprises arranging colorants on a substrate by an ink-jet system comprising the steps of:
- (1) forming on a substrate a resin layer which can be rendered ink-acceptable by light irradiation or by light irradiation and heat treatment;
- (2) retaining in the resin layer portions not rendered ink-acceptable and forming portions rendered ink-acceptable by subjecting to light irradiation or light irradiation and heat treatment;

- wherein R1 is hydrogen or alkyl having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, R2 is hydrogen or alkylene having 1 to 5 carbon atoms or phenylene, and R3 is alkyl having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, alkyl-substituted silyl, phenyl or a substituted aromatic group.
A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal panel comprising the steps of:
- (1) providing on a substrate a resin layer which can be rendered ink-acceptable by light irradiation or by light irradiation and a heat treatment;
- (2) retaining in the resin layer portions not-rendered ink-acceptable and forming portions rendered ink-acceptable by light irradiation or by light irradiation and heat treatment;
- (3) applying in a single operation a plurality of colorants having different colors to the resin layer by an ink-jet system to color the portions rendered ink-acceptable with the colorants having different colors;
