Abstract
A self-driven roller shaft support for supporting a shaft end of a self-driven conveyor roller at a conveyor is interconnectable to the shaft end and to the conveyor. The conveyor includes a frame and a plurality of passive conveyor rollers driven by the self-driven conveyor roller. The self-driven conveyor roller has an axis of rotation extending longitudinally along the self-driven roller between the shaft end and an opposite shaft end. The shaft support is pivotable to move the opposite shaft end of the self-driven conveyor roller relative to the frame in a generally vertical plane.
Claims25
A self-driven roller shaft support for supporting a first shaft end of a self-driven conveyor roller at a conveyor, the conveyor having a frame and a plurality of passive conveyor rollers driven by the self-driven conveyor roller, the self-driven roller having an axis of rotation extending generally straight and longitudinally along the self-driven roller between the first shaft end and an opposite second shaft end, said shaft support being interconnectable to said first shaft end and to the frame, said shaft support being pivotable to pivot the first shaft end and to move the second shaft end relative to the frame in a generally vertical plane to raise the second shaft end from the frame while the first shaft end is interconnected to said shaft support and said shaft support is interconnected to the frame.
The shaft support of said mounting portion is adjustably mountable to the frame and is adjustable to adjust a level of said shaft support relative to the frame.
A roller conveyor for conveying product, said roller conveyor comprising:
- a frame comprising first and second sidewalls;
- a plurality of rollers, each of said plurality of rollers comprising a generally cylindrical roller portion defining an article contact surface and at least one generally rigid shaft portion having first and second shaft ends extending outwardly from opposite ends of said roller portion and defining a longitudinal axis of rotation of said roller portion, said axis of rotation extending longitudinally along said roller portion between opposite ends of said at least one shaft portion, said roller portion being rotatably interconnected with said at least one shaft portion;
- and
- at least one shaft support for pivotally mounting said first shaft end of at least one of said plurality of rollers to said first sidewall of said conveyor, said at least one shaft support limiting rotation of said first shaft end relative to said at least one shaft support about said longitudinal axis or rotation, said at least one shaft support being pivotable relative to said first sidewall about a pivot axis which is generally parallel to a direction of conveyance of the conveyor, said second shaft end being generally vertically movable relative to said second sidewall via pivotal movement of said at least one shaft support about said pivot axis to move said second shaft end from said second sidewall while said first shaft end is interconnected to said at least one shaft support and said at least one shaft support is mounted to said first sidewall.
A roller conveyor for conveying product, said roller conveyor comprising:
- a pair of opposite sidewalls comprising first and second sidewalls;
- a plurality of rollers, each of said plurality of rollers comprising a generally cylindrical roller portion defining an article contact surface and at least one generally rigid shaft portion, said at least one shaft portion extending outwardly from opposite ends of said roller portion and defining a generally straight longitudinal axis of rotation of said roller portion, said axis of rotation extending longitudinally along said roller portion between opposite ends of said at least one shaft portion, said roller portion being rotatably interconnected with said at least one shaft portion;
- at least one self driven roller, said at least one self-driven roller having first and second shaft ends and a generally rigid cylindrical roller portion, said first and second shaft ends defining an axis of rotation extending longitudinally along said self-driven roller between said first and second shaft ends;
- and
- a shaft support for pivotally mounting said first shaft end to said first sidewall of said conveyor, said shaft support limiting rotation of said first shaft end relative to said shaft support about said axis of rotation, said shaft support being pivotable relative to said first sidewall about a pivot axis which is generally parallel to a direction of conveyance of the conveyor, said shaft support being pivotable about said pivot axis to move said second shaft end generally vertically from said second sidewall while said shaft support pivotally mounts said first shaft end to said first sidewall.
