A catalyst comprising at least one noble metal deposited on an acidic support, wherein the dispersion of the noble metal is less than 20%.

A catalyst containing at least one noble metal deposited on an acidic support, characterized in that the dispersion of the noble metal is less than 20% wherein the fraction of noble metal particles less than 2 nm in size represents at most 2% by weight of the noble metal deposited on the catalyst.
