Abstract
The present invention can provide a lactone polyester diol at least containing ε-caprolactone and a dibasic acid as constructing component units, and a polyurethane obtained using the diol and an organic diisocyanate can provide a spandex filament which is more excellent in a recovering ability of elasticity, strength, hydrolysis resistance, and heat resistance.

A lactone polyester diol obtained by reaction of one or more diols having formula (1) or (2)
- with ε-caprolactone and one or more dibasic acids, wherein R1 is phenyl or C1-C4 alkyl, R2 is H or methyl, and X is a single or double bond.
