Abstract
An organic EL device which comprises an anode, a cathode and one or more than one organic thin-film layer including a light-emitting layer contains a specific diaryl compound, triaryl compound or tetraaryl compound represented by following formula (1), (2) or (3): wherein Ar1, Ar1′ and Ar2 is, for example, a monovalent group represented by formula (4), and Ar3 and Ar4 is, for example, a divalent group represented by formula (7): wherein A1 and A6 represent an atomic group forming a substituted or unsubstituted condensed hydrocarbon ring or heterocyclic ring, and R1-R3 and R7-R8 represent, for example, a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, or substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group.
Claims5
An organic EL device comprising an anode, a cathode and one or more than one organic thin-film layers including a light-emitting layer between said anode and said cathode, wherein at least one of said organic thin-film layers contains, either singly or as a mixture, a compound represented by one of the following formulas (1), (2) or (3):
- where Ar1, Ar1′ and Ar2 each independently represents a group represented by one of the following formulas (4), (5) and (6), and wherein Ar1 and Ar1′ are different from each other:
- and wherein Ar3 and Ar4 each independently represents a divalent group represented by one of the following formulas (7) to (11),
- where R1-R14 represent each independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a nitro group, a cyano group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group excluding a substituted or unsubstituted styryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group, a substituted or unsubstituted amino group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkoxy group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryloxy group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkoxycarbonyl group or a carboxyl group;
- and each pair of two of R1 to R3, R5-R6, R7-R8, R9-R10, and R13-R14 may form a ring, A1 to A13 represent an atomic group forming a substituted or unsubstituted condensed hydrocarbon ring, wherein when Ar2 is represented by formula (4) or (6), A1 forms a substituted or unsubstituted 1-naphthyl group and A4 and A5 form a substituted or unsubstituted 1-anthryl group or a substituted or unsubstituted 2-anthryl group, and
- wherein at least one of the substituent groups R1 to R14 or ones existing in the ring structures represented by A1 to A13 is a diarylamino group represented by the formula —NAr5Ar6, wherein Ar5 and Ar6 each independently represents a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 6-20 carbon atoms.
