Abstract
The present invention provides a cationic paint composition containing as resin component a polyol-modified amino group-containing epoxy resin obtained by reacting an epoxy resin with epoxy equivalent 180-2500 with a alkyl phenol and/or a carboxylic acid; a polyol obtained by adding a caprolactone to a compound containing a plurality of active hydrogen groups and an amino group-containing compound.
Claims29
A cationic paint composition containing as resin component a polyol-modified amino group-containing epoxy resin obtained by reacting
- (a) 60-85% by weight of an epoxy resin with an epoxy equivalent of 180-2,500 with
- (b) 0.5-15% by weight of an acid compound selected from the group consisting of the phenols of the following formula (1) and the carboxylic acids of the following formula (2),
- wherein,
- X represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group with a carbon atom number 1-15 which may have optionally substituents selected from the group consisting of —OH, —OR, —SH and —SR, and
- Y represents a hydrocarbon group with a carbon atom number 1-15 which may have optionally substituents selected from the group consisting of —OH, —OR, —SH and —SR, wherein R represents an alkyl group,
- (c) 5-20% by weight of a polyol compound obtained by adding a caprolactone (c2) to a compound (c1) containing a plurality of active hydrogen groups, and
- (d) 5-25% by weight of an amino group-containing compound,
- the weight ratios being based upon the total solid content weight of the epoxy resin (a), acid compound (b), polyol compound (c) and amino group-containing compound (d).
