Abstract
BF3CO2 or both are removed from a mixture containing these gases with B2H6 by contacting the mixture with an inorganic hydroxide such as LiOH. B2H6 is synthesized by contacting BF3 with KBH4.

A process for removing carbon dioxide from a mixture of carbon dioxide and an inorganic hydride comprising the step of contacting said mixture with a reagent composition comprising one or more inorganic hydroxides.
A process for purifying a material containing one or more inorganic hydrides and containing carbon dioxide as an impurity, the process comprising contacting the material with a composition including one or more hydroxides selected from the group consisting of alkali metal hydroxides, alkaline earth hydroxides and ammonium hydroxide to thereby remove said carbon dioxide.
