Method of manufacturing an electromagnetic flow sensor

A method of manufacturing a measuring tube for an electromagnetic flow sensor, said measuring tube having an inlet-side first open end and an outlet-side second open end and comprising a support tube;

• a tubular liner located in a lumen of the support tube;
• and an open-pore reinforcing body embedded in the liner, said method comprising the steps of:
• forming at least one sintering space in the lumen of the support tube by inserting at least one sintering mandrel into the lumen of the support tube and temporarily fixing said mandrel therein, and
• forming the reinforcing body directly in the lumen of the support tube in such a manner that said body fits said lumen, said step of forming the reinforcing body including steps of:
• introducing a material to be sintered into said at least one sintering space,
• sintering the material within said sintering space, and
• removing the sintering mandrel from said lumen;
• forming a casting space in the lumen of the support tube by temporarily fixing a casting mandrel;
• and
• forming the liner directly in the lumen of the support tube, said step of forming the liner including steps of:
• introducing an insulating material into the casting space,
• allowing the insulating material to impregnate the reinforcing body at least partially, and
• allowing the insulating material to solidify within the lumen of the support tube.
