Abstract
An article of manufacture including an organic structure and inorganic atoms bonded to specific locations on the organic structure.
Claims40
A structure, comprising:
- an electrode in electrical contact with a biomolecule;
- an R-loop bound to said biomolecule;
- and
- a nanoparticle bound to said R-loop.
A structure, comprising:
- a substrate;
- first and second electrodes on said substrate;
- bridging DNA extending between said first and second electrodes;
- at least one RNA strand complementary to a region of said bridging DNA wherein said at least one RNA strand and said DNA region bond to form at least one R-loop;
- and
- a nanoparticle bonded to said DNA within said R-loop.
A method for controlling a device that includes a substrate, a first electrode and a second electrode on the substrate, bridging DNA extending between the first electrode and the second electrode, at least one RNA strand complementary to a region of said bridging DNA wherein said at least one RNA strand and said DNA region bond to form at least one R-loop, a nanoparticle bonded to DNA within said R-loop, and an electrically conducting material on the organic molecule, the method comprising the steps of:
- creating a bias in the electrically conducting material;
- and
- regulating a charge in the nanoparticle to effect a change in the current in the electrically conducting material.
