Abstract
The present invention relates to novel cholesteric layered materials having the layer sequence A1/B/A2, where A1 and A2 are identical or different and each comprise at least one cholesteric layer, and B is at least one interlayer separating the layers A1 and A2 from one another, wherein layer B is an adhesive layer; cholesteric multilayered pigments which can be produced therefrom; a process for their production, and their use.
Claims34
A cholesteric layered material having the layer sequence A1/B/A2, where A1 and A2 are identical or different and each comprise at least one aligned cholesteric layer and B is at least one adhesive interlayer separating layers A1 and A2 from one another,
- wherein the cholesteric layered material is obtained by applying a coating composition to a first support layer to form a supported cholesteric layer A1,
- applying an adhesive composition to the supported cholesteric layer A1 to form an supported A1/B laminate,
- applying a coating composition to a second support layer to form a supported cholesteric layer A2,
- laminating the supported cholesteric layer A2 the supported laminate A1/B by contacting the adhesive layer B with the cholesteric layer A2, and
- detaching at least one of the support layers,
- wherein the adhesive force between the adhesive layer B and layers A1 and A2 is at least twice the adhesive force between the cholesteric layers A1 and A2 and any of the support layers.
A cholesteric layered material having the layer sequence A1/B/A2, wherein A1 and A2 are identical or different and each is an aligned cholesteric layer, B is an interlayer separating layers A1 and A2 from one another, and layer B is a light absorbing dispersion of an adhesive and at least one absorptive pigment wherein the adhesive force between the adhesive layer B and layers A1 and A2 is at least twice the adhesive force between the cholesteric layers A1 and A2 and any support layers.
