Abstract
A motion parameter of an at least partially conducting moving body is measured with a measuring device having at least one coil with a coil axis tangential to the motion direction of the moving body. A primary magnetic field induces electrical currents in the moving body that generate a motion-dependent measuring magnetic field which is measured by the measuring device. The tangential coil(s) has/have a greater distance from the moving body than the primary magnets.
Claims35
A device for measuring a motion of a moving body, which has at least one electrically conductive region, comprising:
- magnetic field generating means for producing a primary magnetic field extending perpendicular to the motion of the moving body, with the motion of the moving body inducing an electrical current in the at least one electrically conductive region, and
- at least one measuring device for measuring a measuring magnetic field induced by the electrical current in the at least one electrically conductive region, said measuring magnetic field representing at least one motion parameter of the moving body,
- wherein the primary magnetic field passes through the at least one measuring device, which is located farther away from the moving body than the magnetic field generating means, and the at least one measuring device measures the measuring magnetic field at a location where the measuring magnetic field extends at least approximately parallel to the motion direction.
