Abstract
The present invention relates to anthrapyridone disulfonic acid represented by Formula (1) as shown below or the salt thereof, a water-based magenta ink composition containing the same, and a method for ink-jet recording by using the same. The compound of the present invention is excellent in water-solubility. The magenta ink composition containing the compound has a good storage stability. The product recorded by the ink-jet recording method appears with a vivid and reproducible hue, and has high light fastness and water fastness.

A water-based magenta ink composition comprising the anthrapyridone disulfonic acid represented by Formula (1):
- or the salt thereof.
A water-based magenta ink composition comprising the dye mixture obtained by sulfonating the anthrapyridone compound represented by Formula (2):
- and comprising the disulfonic acid product of the anthrapyridone compound represented by Formula (2) or the salt thereof and the monosulfonic acid product of the anthrapyridone compound represented by Formula (2) or the salt thereof.
