Abstract
The present invention provides novel purified and isolated nucleic acid sequences associated with disease resistance and tolerance in plants. Methods of using the nucleic acid sequences to confer disease resistance and tolerance to plants are also provided.
Claims24
An isolated nucleic acid comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO:
- 3.
A method for conferring disease resistance to a plant comprising introducing into the plant an isolated nucleic acid encoding the polypeptide comprising SEQ ID NO:3, wherein the nucleic acid comprises at least one restriction site for a restriction enzyme selected from the group consisting of Kpn I, Mse I and Msp I, wherein the plant expresses the polypeptide encoded by the nucleic acid, thereby conferring disease resistance to the plant.
