Abstract
The present invention provides radiation-curable compositions for coating plastic substrates, wherein the compositions, after cure, have a combination of sufficient adhesion, flexibility, and hardness. The compositions include: (a) metal oxide particles; and (b) a poly(meth)acrylate compound.
Claims32
A curable composition for coating a plastic substrate, said composition consisting essentially of:
- (a) metal oxide particles;
- (b) one or more poly(meth)acrylate compounds;
- (c) one or more photoinitiators;
- (d) optionally, mono(meth)acrylate monomers or N-vinyl functional monomers;
- (e) optionally, silane adhesion promoters;
- and
- (f) optionally, epoxy-functional compounds;
- wherein said composition, after cure, has a haze increase after taber abrasion of less than 20%.
