Abstract
A welding voltage is determined based on an expression, P=k2×Vw2+k3×Vw, where, with a welding wire feed speed and a welding wire radius used as inputs, a power factor is P(kW), the a melting speed of a welding wire is Vw(g/sec), and k2 and k3 are constants(k2=0.898 and k3=4.625).
Claims5
A high-speed CO2 gas welding method whose welding speed is 1.5 meters per minute or more, comprising determining a welding power on the basis of an expression P=k1×Vw, where P is the power in kW, Vw is a melting speed of the welding wire in g/sec, and k1 is a constant having units of kW-sec/g.
A high-speed CO2 gas welding method whose welding speed is more than and including 2 meters per minute and less than and including 2.5 meters per minute, comprising determining a welding power on the basis of an expression P=k1×Vw, where P is the power in kW, Vw is a melting speed of the welding wire in g/sec, and k1 is a constant lying within a range from 6.25≦k1≦7.41 and having units of kW-sec/g.
A high-speed CO2 gas welding method whose welding speed is 1.5 meters per minute or more, comprising determining a welding power on the basis of an expression P=k2×Vw2+k3×Vw, where P is the power in kW, Vw is a melting speed of the welding wire in g/sec, and k2 and k3 are constants, and wherein k3 has units of kW-sec/g and k2 has units of kW-sec2/g2.
