Abstract
Pressure sensitive adhesive formulations of an acrylic polymer grafted with a hydrogenated rubber. In one embodiment, the polymer contains a hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate ester which is crosslinked with a titanium-containing chelated metal alkoxide. The adhesive formulations provide an exceptional combination of adhesion to low energy surfaces and high temperature cohesive strength.
Claims34
A pressure-sensitive adhesive comprising an acrylic polymer copolymerized with a rubber macromer, wherein the polymer comprises at least one alkyl acrylate monomer containing from about 4 to about 18 carbon atoms in the alkyl group and at least one monomer whose homopolymer has a glass transition temperature greater than about 0° C., and wherein the macromer has a glass transition temperature of about −30° C. or less.
A pressure-sensitive adhesive comprising an acrylic polymer copolymerized with a rubber macromer, the polymer comprising at least one alkyl acrylate monomer containing from about 4 to about 18 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, and wherein the polymer is crosslinked using a titanium crosslinking agent.
