Abstract
The polyacetal resin composition contains about 0.01-10 parts by weight of a glyoxyldiureide compound per 100 parts by weight of polyacetal resin. The glyoxyldiureide compound includes glyoxyldiureide and its derivatives (metal salts etc.). Optionally, about 0.01-10 parts by weight of a basic nitrogen-containing compound is further added. The basic nitrogen-containing compound includes melamine, melamine resin, and polyamide resin. Further, an antioxidant may be further added. The above composition contributes to stability, particularly heat stability, of polyacetal resin and suppression of emission of formaldehyde.
Claims15
A polyacetal resin composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a polyacetal resin, 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of a glyoxyldiureide metal salt, and 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of a basic nitrogen-containing compound as a formaldehyde inhibitor.
A process for producing a polyacetal resin composition which comprises mixing 100 parts by weight of a polyacetal resin, 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of a glyoxyldiureide metal salt, and 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of a basic nitrogen-containing compound as a formaldehyde inhibitor.
A shaped article as molded from a polyacetal resin composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a polyacetal resin, 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of a glyoxyldiureide metal salt, and 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of a basic nitrogen-containing compound as a formaldehyde inhibitor, wherein the article exhibits a formaldehyde emission on standing 24 hours in a closed space at a temperature of 80° C. which is not greater than 1.5 μg per cm2 surface area of the article.
