Abstract
The invention relates to a variant of a parent Termamyl-like a-amylase, which variant has a-amylase activity and exhibits an alteration in at least one of the following properties relative to said parent a-amylase: substrate specificity, substrate binding, substrate cleavage pattern, thermal stability, pH/activity profile, pH/stability profile, stability towards oxidation, Ca2+ dependency and specific activity.
Claims6
A DNA sequence encoding a variant of a parent Termamyl-like alpha-amylase, wherein said variant has alpha-amylase activity and comprises at least two substitutions at positions corresponding to positions in the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 selected from the group consisting of:
- H68, H247, H382, H450, N172, N188;
- N190, A209, A210, Q264, and N265.
